Puanani Faleofa

Administrative Support Assistant

“I would have definitely benefited by having an advisor who is familiar and understanding to my life experiences as a low-income, first generation student.” Pua said.

Pua grew up in Kohala, on the Big Island of Hawaii. After many life journeys, she attended Palamanui Hawaii Community College where she focused on Hawaiian Studies.

Pua loves the natural beauty of the Humboldt State University campus and building relationships. She enjoys her time “talking story” with students and co-workers, listening and learning about their lives and interests. It is her aim to bring the Aloha (love in Hawaiian) spirit to everyone she meets on campus.

When she isn’t helping students in the EOP/SSS office, you can find Pua spending time with her family at the river, watching The Sandlot, or a 49ers game.

One of her favorite moment’s at the EOP office is when the staff danced to a Bruno Mars Song and posted it to our social media.

If you ask Pua for one bit of advice, she might tell you this “Be yourself, the rest will follow”
