“There will be times when you have certain obstacles that get in your way. Don’t back down and keep pushing through. You are not here alone, you have an EOP/SSS family here to help you through these moments. Don’t forget it!” Tania said.

Tania is the EOP/SSS Admissions and Summer Bridge Coordinator and a proud Humboldt and Humboldt EOP Alum. Originally from Gilroy and Calexico, Tania loves spending time in the beautiful outdoors hanging out with her dog, Binks, or enjoying her guilty pleasure - pop-culture (sports to celebrity gossip). She earned her degree at Humboldt in Communication and now spends her day helping students transition to college.

“Think of me as your tia/auntie that you can come and get advice from. I’ll always keep it real, and help find some solutions,” Tania said.

Tania loves her job. “I remember the first time I meet with our incoming students and I get to see their excitement coming to college. Now that I have worked here for 4 years I have had a chance to see students graduate who I first met when they were freshman. I get so overwhelmed with joy when I see them at our EOP Graduation Ceremony (and yes, I cry a lot). The moment when they are receiving their certificate, I get a flashback of their beautiful wonderful faces when they were freshman. That baby face that was so excited and nervous to start a new chapter in life, is now grown up and receiving their degree after a lot of hard work,” Tania said.
